Where To Next by Teresa Franks Sisters Air Artistry

Congratulations to Teresa Franks & Sharen-Lee McLachlan who have been named as finalists in the Linden Postcard Show 2017-2018. The Gold Coast sisters who own Sisters Air Artistry airbrushing studio in Ashmore decided to challenge themselves by entering this art competition through Gallery 247. The theme was an open theme where they were able to paint whatever they wanted but the paintings had to be no larger than 20cm x 25cm. Airbrushing is a genre that is very difficult to master on small surfaces – but Sharen-Lee decided to paint an emu (which she lovingly called “Peeps”) in this genre. Sharen-Lee McLachlan said “I have always wanted to paint an emu, and we did a day trip earlier in the year to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary to take photos of Australian native wildlife. Peeps by Sharen-Lee McLachlan

Sharen-Lee McLachlan from Sisters Air Artistry airbrushes another beautiful bird. Sharen-Lee, who paints from her Gold Coast art studio, loves to airbrush animals and birds. There are many colours in the eyes so it can take a while to get the exact shading and shadows right for what I want to portray.” Sharen-Lee then went on to add “I then like to go in with white to paint each strand of hair. This can be a…

Light Space and Time Special Recognition Sharen-Lee Mclachlan and Teresa Franks

Congratulations to Sharen-Lee McLachlan and Teresa Franks from the Gold Coast based airbrushing art studio Sisters Air Artistry for being named in the Special Recognition Category of the Light Space and Time Online Gallery Seascapes Exhibition. Sharen-Lee McLachlan from Sisters Air Artistry said “I am so proud to be named in the Special Recognition Category for my painting “Morning Glory”. I decided to use my favourite medium of airbrushing for this painting to capture the softness of mornings at the beach on the Gold Coast. It is my tribute to our beautiful city and to have it recognised on an international level is absolutely amazing. I was also named as a Finalist for my painting “Fall” and in the Special Merit Category earlier this year for my painting “Ice Storm” – so to be named three times in the one year is such an honour. When Teresa Franks from Sisters…

It just doesn’t get any better than that!
